Most
people have multiple passwords for e-mail accounts, social networking sites, online banking, site memberships, and so on. With so many passwords
people may think it is easier to simply use the same password, or to use
passwords that are easy to remember such their Phone number or a relative's
name. But Passwords are the first line of defense against cyber crime. You
should make sure you have strong passwords for all accounts on Internet. It’s very
crucial to pick strong password.
The
following 10 tips will help you to create strong, secure and hacker-proof
password -
- LENGTH - Passwords should be eight or
more characters in length. The longer the password, the harder it is to
crack.
- COMBINATION - Use a combination of
uppercase alphabets {ABC.. }, lowercase alphabets {abc..}, number {123…}
and symbols { !&@^|.. }. Using all four types of characters works
the best. For example instead of using welcome use W3Lc0mE^9.
- RANDOMIZATION - Use special charcters and
uppercase letter randomly not just in starting or ending like "pcj@bGq"
instead of "Pcjbgq@"
- COMMON INFORMATION - Avoid using common
information like birthday, phone number, address which is known to all.
- MEANINGFUL WORD- Don't use proper or
meaningful words or simply speaking dictionary words since they are easy
to crack down. Rather use password comprised of random meaningless
characters.
- PATTERN - Never make password
comprising a pattern like QWERTY or ABCD or 789.
- ACRONYM - Generate a password as a
acronym from a phrase of your choice such as " Earth is the 3 planet
of solar system" and use the initial of each word like this :"Eit3pss",
coz Acronym are easy to remember and difficult to guess.
- REVERSE - by reversing, a simple
password can be made hard to crack like “erolgnab" in place of
"banglore".
- ALTERNATIVE - Use alternative for some
letters like 3 for e, $ for s, 0 for o .
- DRAWING - You can make letters, shapes, and more just ’drawing’ on the keyboard like "cft6yhnji9" forming N on Keyboard and Throw in some random caps to really lock it down.

using one or more of these tips. Still if you don’t have faith in yourself, you may use online
tool like password
